Photographic Studio Equipment Retirement Sale

Throughout the years there have been several large companies salivating over the possibility of getting their hands on the Photo-USA dba. They may finally get their wish.

It's been a long delightful career that took me all the way from the North Shore of Lake Superior ('59) to the opium fields of W. Pakistan ('64), Northern and Central Europe (68') and almost every state in the good old USA before settling in California ('80); the longest and most entertaining adventure of them all.  But now it's time to go. I'm fading fast.

Having found just the right little piece of property in the highlands of Central Mexico (not far from Patzcauro), I've decided to fold my tent here in Sacramento and make the permanent move south of the border.

Oh I know I'll still be making a landscape photograph or a portrait from time to time (you never completely abandon the skill-craft) but my real interest these days are more related to reading, fiddling with my Mac, and a dedicated approach to perfecting my skills in the Mexican kitchen. And quite frankly, I just don't have a lot energy left to do much more then that. My doctor suggested that my passion for the properly breaded chili rellenos may have had something to do with that.....but what does he know.

Although formally retired since 2007 I have been pretty slow in selling off my assets. I had watched the digital revolution coming on strong for some time (and kept having recurring dreams about all those failing turn of the century blacksmith shops with Henry Ford right around the corner) so I didn't waste any time getting rid of my "film handling platforms"...a bunch of hassy's, nikons, studio lighting, related lenses, accessories, etc. Thanks to Ebay, of course. But Lord Help, there is so much more! The Props, The Tools, The perifials of the studio. Then there's the electronics; The computers, the specialized software, related books guides.

I'll spend the better part of this summer disposing of what I can. Then we'll make a boat anchor out of the rest of it and dump it in the Sacramento river.........just kidding.
